The golf event in memory of David and to raise funds for the David Doig Foundation was held on Friday 27 October at the Kittocks Course, Fairmont, St Andrews. The weather was perfect, and 64 golfers and many spectators took to the fairways with lots of laughter and nonsense on the course. The format was breakfast then a fun 4-person team Texas Scramble followed by dinner, prizegiving, raffle and auction. The Beat the Pro event and longest putting challenge were well contested. The event raised a huge £7400 for the David Doig Foundation and the event winners was the team from Transocean (Gordon Coull, Stuart McLeod, Chaz Simpson, Mike Rae) - with Kigtek second and Samtec third.
I would like to thank all those companies and individuals who donated prizes for the auction and raffle plus all the companies who sponsored the various activities - and the golfers who took part and made it a fantastic day. By overwheming demand, the event will be held again next year!
